Membership Information

20200312_10205020200312_102103Membership in Patriot Riders is open to anyone with interest in helping all American Veterans and people in our communities who may need our help regardless of race, color, creed or sex. Members must be eighteen (18) years of age. “Junior” members, anyone under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by their parent(s), guardian or approved adult member at all times.

  1. To maintain membership in good standing members must attend a minimum of 5 monthly meetings and 5 sanctioned events in a given calendar year (other circumstances can be discussed with and decided by the Board Officers) and have their dues paid to date. If a member is not in good standing they may be remanded to the Board for disciplinary actions and will not be able to vote at meetings or elections, and will not be eligible for PRoA office.
  2. Members must abide by PRoA Bylaws.
  3. Any time you are wearing our PRoA member patch you are representing our Chapter.
  4. Consumption of alcohol will not be permitted on a ride or at a sanctioned event. Harsh disciplinary action will be taken.
  5. No riding/driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs per Maine State law,  while wearing the PRoA patch.
  6. Reckless driving will not be tolerated.
  7. Riders must have a valid motorcycle license, registration, inspection and insurance. Other vehicle and operators are required to do the same.
  8. Members must be safety conscious and must ride safely and defensively.
  9. Every full member of the organization shall be entitled to one vote. No absentee ballots/votes will be allowed or accepted. Upon request, of any member or officer at any meeting, all corporate documents and financial books must be made available at the next meeting.
  10. Members are held to their own accountability.
  11. Members must obey all local motorcycle and vehicular laws both municipal and provincial.
  12. Members are expected to wear the PRoA patch at all functions.
  13. Any member may be expelled for conduct unbecoming a member of PRoA, only a majority vote by the Board.
  14. Any member may request a leave of absence for personal reasons, during which time they will be excused from all PRoA functions. A leave can be granted by the President at his discretion for up to six (6) months, after which the member must either return their patch or begin attending PRoA functions.
  15. The PRoA is an open Chapter and a member can leave for any reason. If a member wishes to leave the PRoA, they only need to return the patch to the Sergean-At-Arms. To return to the Chapter said member will have to re-apply and obtain the requirements of a prospective member.
  16. Junior members are to achieve the same prospective member requirements and abide by all the PRoA rules and Bylaws. Parent(s), guardians(s), or authorized adult member will take complete responsibility of any and all actions of said Junior member, including disciplinary actions.
